The Birth of an Idea - To Create 'Experiences' of Taste with Tradition

October 2015: On a rainy day in Chennai, a group of cousins and avid foodies from a South Indian family were yearning for authentic murukku. To our surprise, we found a lack of genuine South Indian snacks on retail shelves or in snacking shops. We sought something akin to homemade treats, free from palm oil and preservatives, evoking memories of our grandmother's culinary creations.

Conversely, within our family were talented home-chefs yearning for recognition and financial independence.

We identified a significant challenge and a vital objective. Alongside our family of skilled home chefs, we endeavored to bring these products online following the motto ‘Go online for Tradition’. Delving into our grandmother's kitchen recipes, we curated them just as she had prepared them, culminating in the establishment of Sweet Karam Coffee by the Founding Family.

Presently, what originated as a modest venture, an experiment in our Madras kitchens, has burgeoned into a prominent Global South Indian food brand catering to over 1 million customers.

Helping the Entire Ecosystem: Our mission focuses on empowering small-scale entrepreneurs, particularly 'homepreneurs,' predominantly women whom we support through our endeavor to enhance the reach of South Indian cuisine. We envision tapping into the vast untapped regional potential in the future.
